Kate Steele - Philanthropy Officer


Kate joined the Human Rights Law Centre in 2021 in the newly created role of Philanthropy Officer. Kate has an extensive background in the arts and human rights sectors, working with artists and philanthropic supporters in not-for-profit organisations.

Kate’s expertise is in supporter engagement, specialising in providing excellent donor care and stewardship of supporters across a range of regular giving and campaigns. Kate is passionate about nurturing long term relationships with supporters, to ensure the sustainability of the organisation in its fight for a fairer, more compassionate Australia.

Prior to the Human Rights Law Centre, Kate worked at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre as Supporter Engagement Coordinator. During her time at the ASRC, Kate implemented an onboarding and stewardship journey for regular donors, organised donor events and managed several payment recovery campaigns. Her work at the ASRC assisted in increasing retention of supporters and doubling the number of regular donors.
